Born in Nicholson, daughter of the late Glenn and Lena Spencer Shaw, Joanne was the last member of the Nicholson High School class of 1936.
She loved life and lived through her children.
The family would like give a special thanks to Sharon Davall, her caregiver, for her dedication and also to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart and the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Hayden and husband, Dale; and Beverly Rivenburg; two sons, Charles and wife, Barbara; and Glenn and wife, Carol; eight grandchildren, Robin Hopkins, Penny Buranen, Kevin Rivenburg, Rich Pompey, Sue Pease, Stephany Hayden, Michael Pompey and Dan Pompey; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son in law, H. Ronald Rivenburg.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson, with services by the Rev. David Betts. Interment will take place in the Nicholson Cemetery. A viewing will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.
