Darlene was born May 31, 1958 in Meshoppen, the daughter of Nancy Crispell McKennas and the late Anthony McKennas.
She was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, Class of 1976. Also, she was a graduate of the Northeast Institute of Education.
She retired from the Commonwealth of PA, working for the State Police headquarters in Harrisburg.
The family would like to thank Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Dr. Joseph Drabick, Carol Mallon and team and Hospice of the Sacred Heart of Wilkes Barre.
Darlene also is survived by a brother, Anthony James McKennas and wife, Nancy of Laceyville; a nephew Anthony (A.J.) McKennas and wife, Bridgette of Montrose; two nieces, Christine Myers and husband Jared of Covington Twp, and Ariel McKennas and companion David Dudock of Laceyville; and great-nephews, Blake and Reid McKennas of Montrose.
At Darlene’s request, there will be no viewing and the funeral services will be private.
A public memorial service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the East Lemon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Scott Ryan, pastor.
