Her husband is John Arthur Carpenter, and they had been married 48 years.
Born in Johnson City, N.Y., she is the daughter of Frances Heisler Fine, Nicholson, and the late Glenmore Fine.
She was a 1965 graduate of Chenango Valley High School. She was an avid bowler, a great cook, loved crafting and loved her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters, Lisa McMeekin and husband, Robert, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Karin Delancey and husband, Gene, Montrose; and Tami Hudak, Archbald; six grandchildren, John Dowden, Chad Carpenter, Brittany Delancey, Brandon Hudak, Jerry Hudak and Nici Hudak; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Dowden.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson, with services by the Rev. Margaret Hartmann, pastor, of the First Presbyterian Church of Nicholson.
Interment of remains will be held in the Nicholson Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until service time.
