Born June 25, 1947 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Elwood V. and Etta M. Hawk Squier of Nicholson.
Marsha was a 1965 graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School, a 1968 graduate of Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and a 1983 graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Anesthesia. She worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital for over 20 years and was last employed until her illness at the Mountain Laurel Surgery Center in Honesdale.
Marsha was a very loving and generous person who gave herself and time to help others, including teaching and working in a rural mission hospital in Zimbabwe, Africa. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona, sewing, watching her cooking shows, cooking and baking for her family and family gatherings.
Her greatest joy was teaching and watching Hayley learn to cook on the weekends while she was at her Grandma Carol’s house.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ruppenthal and the nurses and staff of Abington Manor for their kind and compassionate care.
Marsha is survived by a daughter, Kymberly Creeley, Tuscon, AZ; two sisters, Janice Squier and Carol Pompey & husband Glen, all of Glenwood; a brother in law, Elwood Phelps of Hop Bottom; an Uncle and Aunt, Harry & Ann Hawk of Nicholson; nephews Timothy Phelps & wife Heather, Michael Pompey & wife Brianna, Daniel Pompey & fiancée Cieara Payne; great-nieces Hayley Pompey and Addison Phelps; step great-nieces Natalie & Kiersten Godoy, and several cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas E. Squier, and a sister Suzanne C. Phelps.
Per Marsha’s request, she was cremated, and there will be no viewing. A private Interment service will be held in the Nicholson Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, Nicholson.
