Born March 8, 1962 in Utica N.Y., she is the daughter of Dr. Paul Spring and the late Mary Jo Gretchen Spring.
Mary passed away surrounded by her loving family after a valiant effort against breast cancer. She was a certified Shiatsu practitioner, certified Chi Gong instructor, and a member of the Holistic Nurses’ Association.
Mary also was a Second Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do Karate and along with her husband Bruce ran UTA Karate in Dalton.
Mary graduated from Notre Dame High School in Utica, N.Y., and received a BSRN from Niagara University. Mary had a passion for complementary medical care and wellness. She was board certified in holistic nutrition.
Mary had a deep compassion for nature and animals. She cared for and saved many of God’s creatures. She was kind and generous to those she met and always put the needs of other before her own.
Mary is also survived by one brother, Paul Spring and wife Kathy of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Susan Keeler and husband Thomas of Utica, NY, Jennifer Spring of New Hartford, NY, and Aimee Cecil and husband Robert of New Paltz, NY; her stepmother Alice Spring; a stepdaughter,Terra McAullife and husband Joe and their children Jillian and Ronan; her mother in law, Nona Steele and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday Jan. 3rd at 1:00pm in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State Street, Nicholson, with services by Rev. Joanna Bach.
Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Indraloka Animal Sanctuary in Mehoopany or True Friends of Animals in Montrose.
