Born in Clarks Summit, he is the son of the late Gordon and Pauline Johnson Decker.
Gordon retired after 32 years as a heavy equipment operator for PENNDOT. he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Nicholson and a 1953 graduate of the Nicholson High School.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and taking care of his garden. He also was a big fan of the New York Yankees.
Gordon is survived by two sons, Shawn and wife Nicole of Anchorage, Alaska, Chad and wife Kelly of Boiling Springs,Pennsylvania; one daughter, Heidie Decker and her partner Christopher Bishop of Salisbury, Maryland; and five grandchildren, William, Ashlynn, Nina, Emma, and Devon.
He was predeceased by his twin brother Paul and a brother Gerald.
A private family service will be held Monday Jan. 6th in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State Street, Nicholson with services by Pastor Margaret Hartmann of the First Presbyterian Church of Nicholson.
Interment will take place in the Nicholson Cemetery.
