Her husband, Bernard Steele, died in 2011.
Born in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late James and Ethel Cross Mark, she was formerly employed as a secretary at International Correspondence Schools in Scranton, and was a member of the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church.
She also was a member of the Red Hats, and volunteered at Tyler Memorial Hospital.
Nona and her husband had traveled the United States square dancing, and she was an award winning quilter.
Nona is survived by three sons, Bruce, Tunkhannock; Ron, Nanticoke; and Greg, Washington; two sisters, Lila Stines and Frances Sholes; a brother, Gary Mark; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at noon in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson.
The family will receive friends from 11 until service time.
The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Indraloka Animal Sanctuary in Mehoopany or True Friends Animal Welfare Center in Montrose.
