Happy 90th birthday in heaven.
Helen was born March 3, 1927, in Scranton, daughter of the late Simon and Rose Paulauskas Sanauskas who were Lithuanian immigrants.
Helen graduated from Hop Bottom High School in 1944, and worked in the grocery and food business. She had a strong dedicated work ethic which was taken in by her son, Ron “Buns” Slamas.
She was an excellent baker and cook. She loved to crochet and had the uncanny ability to walk through a yard and pick out four leaf clovers.
Thank you to Dr. M. Penetar, Factoryville Ambulance, Regional Hospital of Scranton for your care and a special thanks to to Kathy Taylor for her loving and compassionate care through the good and not so good times.
Helen is survived by a grandson, Nathan Slamas; and nieces and nephews.
Helen is now reunited with her son, Ron, who passed away in 2009.
She was also predeceased by a brother, Joseph Sanauskas; a sister, Margaret Rosenbeck; a grandson, Adam Slamas; her husband, Benny Slamas; and her dog, “Abby.”
Thank you Helen, we will see you on the other side.
