Edwina was born on March 18, 1947, in Camden, New Jersey and raised by her father, Edwin E. Liming.
On Jan. 20, 1968, Edwina married Edward J. Gomez and enjoyed 49 years of marriage. After spending brief periods in Illinois and Philadelphia, they purchased their farm in Nicholson to raise their three boys.
Edwina enjoyed working in her garden and flower beds but her absolute passion was caring for her horses. Through out her life, Edwina owned and cared for numerous horses, always ensuring that they had safe comfortable homes to live out their days.
Edwina is survived by her husband; sons, Richard, Stephen and Phillip; sister-in-law, Kris; grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and a number of close friends and family.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for Edwina during her final days with a special thanks to “Sonny” and “Mel” who cared for her as a sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Lackawanna County.
A Celebration of Life by Pastor Errol Morgan of the Parker Hill Community Church will be held Friday, April 14 at noon in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State Street, Nicholson.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time.
