Diane Partyka Spencer, 63, of Nicholson, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 in her home, her last final wish, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 4, 1955 in Scranton, Pa to the late Blanche (Cary) DeRemer and Floyd Partyka.
On June 15th, 1974 she was married to her best friend, Kevin Spencer. Together they raised three beautiful children, ran Spencer Hill Farm, and spent everyday together. Diane enjoyed being on the farm with Kevin, her chickens and beloved dog, Marley, playing cards, and watching her children and grandchildren grow up. She is survived by three beautiful daughters, Dawnielle Newhart (Brian Telford) of Hop Bottom, Jamie June (Donnie Capron) of Factoryville, and Bobbie (Derek Lawrence) Lawrence of Nicholson. Seven grandchildren, Jourdaine (Matthew Cowan), Sydney, Gavin, Aquinniah, Grady, Beau and Willow and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her step-father Ralph DeRemer, and her brother Robert Partyka. Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St. Nicholson, PA. Viewing will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00PM and Wednesday 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society.

Joseph G. Mulhern Jr., 55, Nicholson, died Tuesday at the Gardens at Tunkhannock.
Born in Scranton, the son of Joseph Sr. and Maureen Brek Mulhern of Nicholson, Joe was employed as a union plumber with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 524 of Scranton. He loved motorcycles, the outdoors, hunting and fishing and enjoyed attending bluegrass music festivals and the Harley rendezvous. Joey is also survived by two brothers, Michael and wife, Leslie; and Kevin and wife, Lori; a sister, Maureen and husband, David, all of Nicholson; six nieces and nephews and one great-niece. A blessing service by the Rev. Arbogaste Satoun will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson. Interment will follow in the Nicholson Cemetery. Carey, 80, of West Nicholson, Pa., was taken into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday afternoon at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital. He and his wife, Shirley (Adams), were married for 59 years.
Born in West Nicholson, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank and Emily Carey. Carl attended school in Nicholson, Pa. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. He worked as a mechanic at Proctor and Gamble for 24 years prior to his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Clarks Green Assembly of God Church. Carl was a loving husband and father, excellent provider and a man of strong faith and devotion to God, to his family and to his friends. He was always willing to help others and sincerely cared for people. In his earlier years, Carl loved to hunt and fish. He loved working on his equipment and spending time outdoors. He loved to sing and often sang in church and ministered at various nursing homes. He served the Lord in the many ways he was called throughout his life. He also loved spending time with his beloved dog, Molly. Carl will be deeply missed by his family and his friends. In addition to his wife, also surviving are a son, Robert, of Tunkhannock, Pa.; a sister, Pearl LaRue, of Montrose, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several siblings. Glenn E. Johnson, 83, of Clovis, N.M., formerly of Nicholson, died Saturday at Clovis Health Care, Clovis, N.M.
His wife, Shirley Maas Johnson, died in 2011. Born in Lenoxville, son of the late Howard W. and Birdie Palmiter Johnson, he was a member of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church and the Ranchvale Baptist Church in Clovis. He was a retired manager for Procter and Gamble and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Glenn enjoyed helping his auctioneer friend with auction and estate sales in New Mexico and was a member of the Lenoxville Community Band, an avid hunter and a member of the Elk Foundation. Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Sanauskas and husband, Gary, Lenoxville; Nancy Johnson, Lenoxville; and Robin Kilmer and husband, Gary, Nicholson; six grandchildren, April Ball and husband, Glenn; Craig Robertson and wife, Lindsay; Jenifer Sanders and husband, Adam; Jeremy Benedict and wife, Holly; Natalie Houser; and Matthew Kilmer and wife, Ashley; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson, with services by Pastor Pat Hanley of the Lenoxville United Methodist Church. Interment will be held in the Clifford Valley Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service at the Ranchvale Baptist Church in Clovis will be held at a later date. Born in Marksboro, N.J., the son of the late John and Lillian Mae Emery Lauer, he was a member of the Springville United Methodist Church and Union Grange 152. Dave retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and was a lifelong dairy farmer. David is survived by a son, Paul; four daughters, Shirley Krayeski, Elizabeth Robison, Miriam Vance and Eileen Kamensky; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a son, David Jr. The funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Springville United Methodist Church with services by Pastor Terry L. Hughes and the Rev. John Heinsohn. Interment will be held in the Lauer family cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon in the Charles H. Gow, age 81, of South Gibson, went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday Sept. 5.
His wife is the former Kaye Robinson and they would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on Oct. 20. Born Oct. 7, 1936 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph Gow Sr. and Eleanor Oakley Gow. He was a member of the Kingsley Community Church and was formerly employed as a maintenance supervisor at the General Electric plant in Westover, N.Y. He also was a former Gibson Twp. police officer. He loved his family and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved his musical instruments, his favorite being the banjo and bluegrass gospel music. He played with the Airport Pickers, Black Sage and the East Lemon Group. David was stationed in Germany and served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. David is also survived by three daughters, Leslie Munyan and husband, Daniel, of Elizabethtown; Lori Lynne Farley and husband, David, of Montrose; and Leanne Davis and husband, Steve, of Dalton; two brothers, Joseph Gow Jr. and wife, Mitzi, of Kingsley; and Richard Gow and wife, Evelyn, of New Buffalo; a sister, Maralyn Scott and husband, Alex, of Kingsley; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and beloved niece, Nicole Brewer, of Montrose. He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Gow Brown; and a brother, Charles Gow. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Kingsley Community Church, with services by Pastor James Madas and former Pastor Alex Scott. The family will receive friends at the church Friday, Sept. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, one hour before service time.
