Vivyenne Pascoe, 67, of Hop Bottom, passed away on Tuesday, December 18th at Allied Services Hospice Center in Scranton after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Her husband is Douglas Pascoe and they have been married for 37 years.

Santiago Perez Jr., 80, of Nicholson, died Saturday at Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna.
His wife is Angela Nieves Perez. They have been married for 57 years. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Santiago and Alejandrina Gonzalez Perez, he was a retired medical doctor and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Nicholson. From 1963 to 1965 he served in the United States Air Force as a captain and flight medical officer. He served at the Veteran’s Administration from 1965 to 1979, also having his own practice from 1969 to 1979 and received a retina fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia in 1979. From 1980 to 1981 he served in the United States Navy as a commander and ophthalmologist. After leaving the Navy, he went into private practice in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico and was in private practice in Elizabeth, N.J. from 1981 to 2008 retiring as a retina surgeon and he was also a member of the American Medical Association. He is also survived by two sons, Santiago Jose Perez and Alberto Ivan Perez; and a daughter, Maria Del Pilar Perez. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, Nicholson, to be celebrated by the Rev. Arbogaste Satoun. Those who wish to attend the Mass are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Starkville. Joseph Ross Venne, 88, Hop Bottom, died Friday at the Gardens at Tunkhannock.
His wife is the former Geraldine T. Tompkins, and they have been married for 64 years. He retired from General Dynamics as a tool and die maker. Joseph was a United States Marine veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Elk Mountain V.F.W. Post 8488. He also was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Scranton and was ordained as an elder in 1999; a member of the Hop Bottom Hose Company; and a Boy Scout leader. He is survived by sons, Joseph G. Venne and Richard P. Venne, both of Hop Bottom; a daughter, JoAnn Brown, Hop Bottom; a brother, William, Palm Coast, Fla.; sisters, Dorothy Brown, Selmer, Tenn., and Beverly Balmer, Savannah, Ga.; and a grandson, Michael Brown. He was predeceased by a sister, Claire Alexander, in 1993. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Born in Springville, he is the son of the late Lee Roy Gregory Jr. and Norma Mason Gregory. He worked as a welder fabricator and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He also loved to play the guitar and ride his Harley. Zeke is also survived by a son, Linden Lee Gregory; a daughter, Lindena Renee Marcy; a sister, Donna Mead; two brothers, Roger and Daniel Gregory; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeanne Diaz, and two brothers, Charles and Robert. There will be no public services and private interment will be held in the Nicholson Cemetery. Lillian M. Norton, 96, of Nicholson, died Tuesday at her home. She was married to her husband, Daniel H. Norton Sr., for 68 years when he died in 2009.
Born in Nicholson on Nov. 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late William and Mae Shafer Sherman. Her faith was the center of her life and she taught Sunday School for 30 years. She loved family, reading, gardening and singing. Lillian is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Art) Carpenter and Lezlie White; three sons, Daniel (Lois) Norton, David (Kathleen) Norton and Steve (Diane) Norton; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Born on July 2, 1923 in Nicholson to the proud parents of Amon and Maude Burklin Squier. Beulah was a retired bank teller and a member of the Nicholson United Methodist Church and the UM Women Society of Nicholson. She loved to cook, read and family was most important to her. She prided herself in being a very proper lady. Beulah is survived by her daughters, Carol Ross (Joseph) Backowski and Bonnie Konopelski; her grandchildren, James (Laurie) Backowski, Lisa Backowski (Minor) Mena and Nadine Konopelski (Timothy) Farr; her great-grandchildren, Cody Krommelbein, Alyssa Farr (Joshua) Beccue, Danielle Backowski, Joseph Backowski and Derek Farr; and her godchildren, Kim Poppe and Welly Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Rudolph Kaminski and Vancleft E. She is survived by two daughters, Stella Jerauld and husband, Bart; and Connie Sevensky; a son, Randy Sevensky and wife, Denise; two brothers, William and Edward Frederici; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Fiehl, who she raised for the last 12 years; a cousin, Nelda Emick; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
