Anna Marcy, 98, of Kingsley passed away September 27 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a farmer’s wife and devoted to the Marcy farm. One of her pleasures was mowing the lawn.
Anna was a wonderful Christian mother. Her warmth, love, and kindness made her a blessing to everyone she encountered. She was born March 29, 1925 and graduated from Nicholson High School in 1945. She was the daughter of the late Glenn and Thresa Billings. Anna was a member of the Lake Sheridan Bible Chapel. She served the Lord as an awana leader, served in the Ladies Aide, and helped serving and cooking dinners. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; daughter, Christine Knowlton; and a sister, Lucille Loch. Surviving are three children, Sydney Ann (partner Richard Randall), Bradley (wife Joy), and Mark (wife Lori); and a sister, Shirley Baker (husband Ervin). Anna is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Tammi, Troy, Mathew, Melisa, Heather, Amanda, and Hunter; great grandchildren Cody, Neil, Terry, Nicholas, Cameron, Dwight, Sonna Lynn, Henry, Elizabeth, and Rachael; and a great great granddaughter, Julianna (5 generations) Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and other family and friends who will always remember the impact she had on their lives. We thank Traditional Hospice for being so kind and caring. Funeral services will be Monday at 11am in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State Street, Nicholson with services by Pastor James Wentz of the Lake Sheridan Bible Chapel. Interment will follow in the Tower Cemetery, Kingsley A viewing will be held from 5-8pm on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Lake Sheridan Bible Chapel.

Our beloved Mother/Grandmother Charlotte Latuk, 87 of Nicholson, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 23, 2023.
Charlotte was born in Distant, PA, on Feb 27, 1936, to LeRoy and Mabel (Wadding) Shumaker. They preceded her in death in 1972 and 1973. She married Eugene Latuk on June 14, 1969, he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 2003. She is survived by three children, Cheryl (William) Paolucci, Nicholson, PA, Cynthia (Bruce) Swartzfager, Tallahassee, FL and Jeffrey Stanford. Erie, PA, five step children M. She is preceded in death by two sisters, Merrilyn Kohler and Lucille Seigworth, four brothers, Lee, Glenn, Dewayne, Wade Shumaker and step great granddaughter, Annabelle Strelecki. Charlotte graduated from Randolph East Mead High School in Guys Mills PA in 1954. She lived in many states, PA, OH, FL, AZ, CA. She was a secretary for lawyer, school and church offices. Her hobbies included needlework, painting and traveling, She was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Nicholson, PA and a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Belleview, FL and Calvary Baptist Church, Meadville, PA As per her wishes, there will not be a funeral. There will be Celebrations of Life at Berean Baptist Church ,and Calvary Baptist Church at the family's convenience. The family wishes to thank Allied Hospice Services for taking care of our Mom/Grandma, especially Kristin, Chris, Deb, Samantha, Marianne, Jen, Kara, Joyce, Lindsay, and Gerlin. We also thank Kevin Miller for all of his caring and guidance. Kathryn (Micky) Decker passed away in Marquand, MO on July 22, 2023.
Born March 5, 1930 in Glenwood, PA she is the daughter of the late Jim Davis and Florence Maas Davis. She was the wife of Arthur Decker who passed away in 1993. She worked as a secretary for 25 years at Keystone Jr. College. She was a member of the Arbutus Chapter Eastern Star in Nicholson, a member of the Nicholson United Methodist Church, and attended the United Methodist Church in Patton , MO. She has seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Kathryn is survived by her three children, Kathryn (Kitty) Hendrickson and her husband Jeff of Marquand, MO; David Decker of Los Lunas, NM; Jack Decker and wife Deborah of Yazoo City, MS; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Jim Davis, sister Susan Evans, infant brother Thomas Davis, grandson Airman First Class Cody Hendrickson, a niece Gail Evans Klimek, sisters in law Armillie Corey, Helen Curtis, and Faye Decker; brothers in law Verdon Decker, Harold Evans, and Orson Corey. Joanne Decker, 74, of Nicholson, PA, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a sudden illness on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Joanne lives on through her husband Randy Decker, children Kim Fekette and James Resseguie (Becky), and her 7 grandchildren: Alesia, Garrett, Ethan, Evan, Madelyn, Parker, and Kendyll.
Joanne was born in Carbondale, PA on 9/13/48 as the daughter of late Fred Conrad and Mae Barney. She was the oldest of 7 siblings, survived by Shirley (Richard) Masters, Fred (Theresa) Conrad Jr., Darlene Brown, and Robin (Angie) Conrad, proceeded in death by Gary Conrad, and Shelva Rafte (missing since 2006). Joanne had many endeavors in life but her favorites were gardening, her grandchildren, friends, painting, and charities. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, hairdresser, artist, and master gardener. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29th starting at 12pm in the South Gibson Church, 2839 State Route 2067, Union Dale, PA 18470. Smith, 80, of Factoryville, passes away Wednesday June 28 at the Allied Service Hospice Center in Scranton.
Her husband is Larry A. Smith Sr. and they would have been married for 57 years on July 2. Born in Scranton she is the daughter of the late Martin and Edith Gregory Walsh. She graduated from Scranton Technical High School and had been employed as a nursing home aid. She loved dancing, roller skating, and playing bingo. Eileen is also survived by two sons, Larry A. Smith Jr. and Jeffrey Martin Smith; two sisters, Sheila Walsh Rowlands and Linda Walsh Mislevy; two brothers, Gregory Walsh and Kevin (Merry) Walsh; and two grand children, Jaxon Smith and Alex Smith. She was predeceased by a sister, Anne Roche Walsh; and her mother and father in law, Olive and Arvin Smith. It was Eileen's wishes to have no public services. Christine (Chrissy) Long Wentz, 53, of West Nicholson passed away Tuesday, June 20 2023 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband is Bob Wentz and they have been married for 24 years. Chrissy was born in Scranton, PA on July 4,1969 the daughter of Carol Long and the late Joseph Long. She attended Lackawanna Trail High School and the Factoryville Baptist Church. Over the years Chrissy was employed by Faith Manor, Wegmans, WVIA, and finished her career at Belvedere Lanes in Nicholson. Chrissy loved her family and friends and spending quality time with all. She was loving, kind, caring, and had a larger than life personality. She had a gift for laughing and putting a smile on everyone’s face. She was a loving wife and mother. Chrissy is also survived by her children, Caisee, Joe, Logan, Robert, Donny, and Tami; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; mother, Carol Long; sister, Connie (Ron); brother John (Erin); and sister in law, Sandy Pifer (Melvin). She was predeceased by her son, Stephen; daughter, Kari; infant grandchildren, Nevaeh and Noah; father, Joseph Long; and mother in law, Marie Wentz. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Donald Devore Johnson, 93, of Dalton passed away Sunday June 18th at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton.
He was predeceased by his wife, Roberta Richmond Johnson. Born in Tunkhannock, he is the son of the late Guy and Myra Williams Johnson. He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Dalton and the Waverly Masonic Lodge #301. He graduated from the Masonic Homes as a machinist and also worked as bank manager. Donald was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by two sisters, Jane Jones and Ann Hawk; and four step children; George Slocum, Sandy Ferrenti, Susan Matteo, and Karen Westbrook. He was predeceased by a son, Bruce Johnson. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the Church of the Epiphany. Bonnie Lyn Croasdale, 77, of Nicholson, passed away Wednesday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband is John Croasdale.
Born in Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Cradoc and Marjorie Gow Evans. She was a member of the West Nicholson United Methodist Church and prior to retiring worked in the Keystone College cafeteria. Bonnie was the best Mom in the world and a loving wife for 58 years. She loved raising her family and took pride and enjoyed watching her grandchildren. She was loved and enjoyed by her family and will be greatly missed. She was a strong believer in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Bonnie is also survived by a son, Doug; two daughters, Penny Clark (Jeff) and Wendy Heinz (Mat); two sisters, Roxann Spencer and Connie Teel; four grandchildren, Ruger Clark (Delaney), Colt Clark (Caitlin), Jake Burgess and Emalyn Burgess; and a great-grandson, Theodore Jeffrey Clark. She was predeceased by a brother, Vernon Evans; and a sister, Celene Fallon. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 30 at 11am in the West Nicholson United Methodist Church with services by Carlton Ball. home. He is survived by his life partner, Rhea Baldwin. Born in Carbondale June 2, 1946 he is the son of the late Richard Edwards Sr. and Dolores Walsh Edwards. He graduated from Benton High School and was a cattle dealer and dairy farmer. He also was a member of the PA Farm Bureau. Tucker had a huge heart and would help any person who needed it. He had many amazing friends that he cared for dearly. Tucker had a soft spot for all children, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren that he showered with love and hugs. Tucker is also survived by a daughter, Stephanie Kalinowski (husband Ricky); a son, John (Bubby) DeLancey (fiancé Ashley); two brothers, John and David; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard Edwards Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Stine. Funeral services will be Friday at 11am in the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St, Nicholson. There will be a viewing from 9am until service time. Interment will follow in Willow View Cemetery in Clifford. Memorial donations may be made to the Gift of Life. Elizabeth Watson Crock, 76, of Clarks Summit, formerly of Nicholson, passed away Monday, May 22, at Allied Skilled Nursing in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank Watson Sr. and Elizabeth Evans Watson. She was formerly employed at the Marworth Treatment Center in Waverly and was a member of the Nicholson United Methodist Church. Liz is survived by a daughter, Kelly Quick (Darrin); two sisters, Bonnie Maciak (Kenneth) and Sally Lochen (Richard); two brothers, Frank Watson Jr. and Joseph Watson; four grandchildren, Coby and Caden Quick, and Connor and Cameron Crock; the father of her children, William Crock; and several nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thank you to a special niece, Becky Aten, for the exceptional care and assistance provided to Liz during her illness. Liz was predeceased by a son, Todd Crock; a sister, Shirley Antoine; and a brother, Edsel Ponicsan. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. by Rev.
